Domestic Violence Outreach (DVO) serves communities across Chicagoland through three pillars: Awareness, Services, and Prevention. We help residents, local organizations, and communities of all faith traditions establish domestic violence outreach groups. Through training, resources, and ongoing support, we equip volunteers to raise awareness of abuse in all its forms, reduce silence and stigma, connect victims and survivors with services, and help their communities recognize warning signs earlier.
We have established more than 70 groups across Chicagoland, including 11 in the western suburbs, and are working with several local organizations to establish more. We welcome residents and organizations interested in joining these efforts.
Through HeaRT, our middle school prevention program, we help young people build healthy relationship skills. DVO provides school staff with training, curriculum materials, coaching, and ongoing support at no cost to participating schools. We welcome connections with more local schools and have upcoming virtual trainings available. We also offer HeaRT for Parents and Caregivers, a free, self-paced online program.
